Student Council
The student council at J. L. Long Middle School needs highly motivated students who are willing to be positive role models and leaders of their student body. The student council requires student leaders who will work in partnership with the administration, teachers and students to foster a positive climate of success in all aspects of school life. Becoming a part of the student council will empower the student to be a voice for the student body and to become engaged in service to the school and community.
Students will be able to nominate themselves or be nominated for the following positions after which a school wide election will determine the winning officers:
President, Vice President and Secretary: - 7th or 8th grades
Liaison Officers: representatives from 6th, 7th and 8th grades
Classroom Representatives: 6th, 7th and 8th grades
Executive Board members will meet at least once a week on Wednesday mornings 7:30-8:15 a:m to report on progress in order to create consistent growth in efforts.
